Alyson Noel Biography

If you are fond of reading, then you would have definitely heard of Alyson Noel. She is a writer based in Orange Country, California. Alyson grew up in Orange County and went to Richard Nixon Elementary School. After finishing her high school from Troy High School, she spent time living in Mykonos, in Greece. Thereafter, she moved back to America, to Manhattan, where she worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines.

However, Alyson has done different kinds of jobs, such being a babysitter, working in a department store as a sales clerk, jewelry maker, working as an office manager and administrative assistant, t-shirt painter and even working in a hotel as a front desk clerk. But now as a writer, she spends her time penning books, traveling or get away from the chaotic city life.

She claims that she decided to become a writer after reading a book penned by Judy Blume. This book was entitled Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. She was in the sixth grade when she read this book. Alyson's first novel was meant for young adults, and it discusses the lifestyle that teenagers lead today. It was entitled Faking 19. Besides this book, she has written several other books, such as Saving Zoe, Kiss and Blog, Art Geeks and Prom Queen, Cruel Summer, Laguna Cove, Radiance, and Fly Me to the Moon.

Alyson was busy until June 2011 writing a series of novels as a part of the Immortal series. The first book in the series was Evermore, which hit the stands in February 2009. This was followed by Blue Moon in July 2009, Shadowland in November 2009, Dark Flame in June 2010, Night Star in November 2010 and the Everlasting in June 2011.

She has won many prestigious awards for her novels and was number one on the New York Times Bestseller, International Bestseller, and USA Today Bestseller. She has been nominated for the CYBIL award, Quill award and YALSA's Teen Top Ten. She was even on Early Show's Give the Gift of Reading on CBS. Alyson's books have been published in 36 different countries and more than 2 million copies of her books were printed just in the United States.

At the moment, Alyson is busy writing a series of books which are spin off of the Immortal series, but concentrates on Riley, who is Ever's deceased sister. This series is known as the Riley Bloom Series and the first book of the series, Radiance, hit the stand in August 2010. While the second book in the series entitled Shimmer was available for Alyson fans from March 2011.
