| Rock music lovers will definitely know who Steven Tyler is. He is the lead singer for the rock band Aerosmith. He plays the harmonica in the band, and at times, he is also seen playing percussion or the piano. His birth name was not Steven Tyler. Rather, he was christened Steven Victor Tallarico. He was born on 26 March 1948 in New York. His mother’s name was Susan, while his father’s was Victor. His mother worked as a secretary, while his father was a classical musician and also played the piano. As he came from a musical family, it was but natural that Steven would be exposed to music from an early age. By the time Steven was 16 years, he began his first band name The Strangeurs. However, band changed its name to Chain Reaction later on. Steven started out as the drummer for the band, but later became the lead singer. In addition, he was also part of other bands locally. He initially went to Roosevelt High School, but was expelled due to his drug habit. However, then he completed his studies from the Leonard Quintano for Young Professionals School.
Even before Tyler formed Aerosmith, he wrote a song entitled Dream On. This song would go on to become one of the most popular songs by the band. However, it was in the year 1969, when Tyler went to see a rock show in Sunapee, New York. Here he happened to see Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton playing for another band called Ham Band. He was immediately taken aback by the duo’s attitude and playing ability. So, he befriended them, and the three decided to start a band. As Tyler wanted to be the lead singer for this newly formed band, he asked a friend of his Joey Kramer to play the drums.
